Inaugural Award Presentation

I have come to the conclusion that I want to establish a blog award that recognizes the courage of being open, exposed, and authentic as part of a personal process of seeking healing, wellness, and growth. I’m calling it the Courageous Confessional Blog Award.  The title of which is partially inspired by one of the first people I am bestowing the award to, Sean Paul Mahoney of urtheinspiration and his post, I haven’t got time for the pain. The other blogger who will be an inaugural recipient is Tobbe ‘Torbs’ Lindgren ofslapppshot because of his five day series, Confessions of an Alcoholic!. Torbs’ presentation and sharing of this series is what helped transform my thought into action in creating this award. ~ Kina Diaz DeLeon, About, Courageous Confessionals

  1. I’m so honored! It’s especially sweet for someone who struggled their whole life to embrace the truth about themselves. Now that I have I fear you won’t be able to shut me up! Anyway thanks for the award. xoxo- S.

  2. Reblogged this on Human In Recovery and commented:

As a result of receiving so many awards in recent weeks and because there have been so many whose blogs I have read provided me with inspiration, encouragement, and hope, I created a new blog award and site to “showcase” bloggers who take such risks to share their journeys. Please stop by, read through the Inaugural Award Presentation and the About page, then nominate someone who has shown courage in confessing the truth about themselves and their lives.
    Be well,

    • Thank you. It came from two main things that I’ve been experiencing.1) receiving awards without knowing their origins and 2) reading so many blogs where people are demonstrating such courage by facing down the darkness in their worlds. I have reblogged a couple of articles on my personal blog, but somehow it always seemed like I was trying to display someone else’s words in lieu of my own. This seemed a good way to deal with that.

      • I agree. I have started to reblog things I like, and I have a few friends who give me things to put up. Since I work full time until Sept. 1, I really can’t keep up writing as much as I would like to anyway, but I’m addicted to blogging. You may have to put me into a Bloggers Anonymous Program! Eventually I will have to come up with an award. It’s amazing what receiving an award does for people. It’s like -YES! Someone is out there listening to me!
